Renana Raz is a multi-disciplinary artist. choreographer, dancer and an actress. her work is characterized by originality and innovation, as well as integration of various stage disciplines such as dance, theater, puppetry, documentary materials, video art and performance art. In her works, she examines the place and impact of the context, on the way the actual content is perceived by the audience. Many times she disconnects the content from it’s original place or context, and creates new and surprising connections. Her pieces always challenge and re-examine the interaction between shape and content, thus creating a variety of innovative formats.
They have all been ‘stars’ in the drama that unsettled the Israeli public in 2014; When Adam Verete, a teacher for Judaism studies in Ort Tiv’on High school, was called to a hearing prior to dismissal, because of a letter sent by his student Sapir Sabah to the Minister of Education. In that letter, she claimed he was expressing in class “opinions of extreme left wing” and “goes against the state”.
